I Question Murder Being Blamed on Gang Activity
f you are watching the news, or heard about the teens charged in the murder of a Manchester High football player, you probably have heard “gang activity.” I have to question that and I have good reason to.
Part of my job at the newspaper is covering sports for Manchester High and Central of Talbotton. As a reporter, you get to know the players. While you may not know everything about them, you do get to know a good bit about them, their character and more.
As a reporter, I’ve also had to cover the shooting murder of Daryus Bryant and the arrest of the young men from Talbotton reportedly involved in the incident. I heard, as the bond hearings got underway, suspected gang activity was mentioned. I couldn’t believe it!
Former Callaway Gardens Worker Charged With Theft from Resort
A Hamilton woman has been arrested and charged with theft in connection with money missing from Callaway Resort and Gardens.
According to reports, Jessica Steele, 42, of Hamilton, a former Gardens employee, was arrested July 14 on a charge of theft by taking. Steele was an employee of the resort from January, 2020 to January, 2022.

GBI and Manchester PD Seek HelpTo Locate Suspect in Murder Case
The GBI and the Manchester Police Department are asking for the public’s help in locating Kimani Copeland a suspect in the case.
Copeland is allegedly involved in the incident that took the life of Shawn Jackson, Jr..
According a GBI press release, Copeland will be facing aggravated assault and murder charges in connection to the death of Jackson, 29, of Fayetteville.
According to a press release by the GBI, the charges stem from a shooting that occurred on Wednesday, Apr. 30 at about 12 a.m. in Manchester.
FRA Wildcats Crush Skipstone
The Flint River Academy (FRA) Wildcats are boasting a record of 13-2 after defeating Skipstone Academy last week and will wrap up regular season play this week.

I have never really understood why a rabbit and eggs are the secular representations of Easter, though. Rabbits don’t lay eggs. (At least I’ve always heard that whatever it is they do leave behind, they ain’t eggs.) And I do get the part about “renewal” and all, but still … rabbits? Eggs? Come on.
