The Trojans intercepted Ryan Maxwell with 3:40 to go and broke off a big run to the nine-yard line shortly after. A penalty on the Bears gave Coffee the ball on the one-yard line, and Bobby Reynolds ran in another touchdown to finish the game, 27-13.

HoCo’s offense struggled to gain traction; they only amassed 20 yards through their first three possessions and were held out of the end zone in the first half. Coffee ran the first play of the game back for a 63-yard kickoff return touchdown.

The Bears return home to play Veterans next week.

Northside

Northside (3-4, 1-2 Region 2-6A) fell to Lee County on Friday in their first shutout loss of the season, 37-0.

The defense gave a solid performance, holding the Trojans offense to 23 points. The remaining 14 were scored on special teams.

Destin Bell returned the opening kickoff roughly 80 yards for a touchdown, and in the third quarter Lee County picked up a blocked punt inside the five-yard line for the final score of the contest.

The Eagles will hit the road for the final time in the regular season as they head down to Coffee County next week.

Perry

Perry (3-4, 2-1 Region 2-5A) is on their final bye week after a 45-20 victory against Jones County last week. They return to action next week at home against Union Grove.

Veterans

After last week’s 49-0 loss to Lee County, Veterans (4-3, 1-2) took their second bye week and will get back on the gridiron next week against Houston County.

Warner Robins

Warner Robins (5-2, 3-0 Region 2-5A) will come back from their back-to-back bye weeks as the sole leader in their region after Jones County lost to Perry, leaving the Demons as the only team with no region losses. They host Ola next week.

Westfield

Westfield (5-3, 2-0 GIAA District 3-3A) easily defeated Central Fellowship Christian Academy on the road on Friday, 57-7.

The Hornets set a new season-high in points by halftime as they led 43-0, and their 57 at the end of the night crushed the previous high of 40 against Southwest Georgia Academy.

Now Westfield will turn their attention to the final home game of the regular season against Terrell Academy next week.
