The Peach Festival visits the City of Byron

It’s time for Byron to celebrate with plenty of peaches for the 37th Annual Peach Festival.

BYRON, Ga. – It’s easy being peachy, however, this time it was in the City of Byron! The 37th Georgia Peach Festival continued this last Saturday, June 10, in North Peach Park. The festival recognized the hard work of the local peach growers of Peach County, including Lane Southern Orchards, Dickey Farms and Pearson Farms.

Families were able to wander through the park and browse the many vendors selling a variety of goods ranging from shirts, mugs, gemstones, toys and the like. Those walking along the path were able to look at an assortment of food, ranging from food trucks to vendors including fresh produce and home-cooked food from Barbour Farms and Lane Southern Orchards. Lane Southern Orchards had a large crop of peaches ready to sell.

While it was a shorter festival, taking place for only one day it had plenty of activities to keep the crowd excited. There was live music provided by multiple artists including Paul Carreker “Big Daddy”, Mary Kate Farmer and the Tobacco “RD” Band.

In addition to what North Peach Park normally offers in the way of children’s playgrounds and outdoor seating areas, there was also a bubble station where people could create expansive bubbles from large, custom-made bubble wands as well as a foam party truck. A bouncy castle had been set up for younger children and a spinning ride was set up near the stage. In addition to all of that, there were also two separate monster truck rides and a helicopter ride available. The Local Fire Department had an inflatable fire hydrant that spewed water and a pop-up burning house that had fire targets for young children to knock down with a hose. The evening ended with a fireworks show.
