FORT VALLEY, Ga. — It was a busy Saturday at Peach County High School as the Peach County students and their families geared up for the upcoming 2026/2027 school year with Peach County’s annual back-to-school bash, Trojan Fest.
Peach County Schools hosted their inaugural Trojan Fest Back-to-School event on Saturday, Aug. 1, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on the Peach County High School campus. Students were able to receive free school supplies as well as learn about the local schools and community resources available to them, such as the Peach Public Libraries and Peach County Health Department.
Students and their families also had the opportunity to meet with the teachers and administrators from the seven Peach County public schools: Byron Elementary School, Hunt Elementary School, Kay Road Elementary School, Byron Middle School, Fort Valley Middle School, Peach County High School, and Peach County Achievement Academy.
Numerous organizations were present to provide free school supplies and information packets on the resources and services they provide. These included the Peach County Transportation Department, the Peach County School Nutrition Program, the Byron Welcome Center, the Fort Valley Utility Commission, State Farm, Blue Bird, Flint Energies, Sunmark Bank, Atrium Navicent Health, and more.
Multiple representatives from the local colleges and universities were present, including Fort Valley State University, Central Georgia Technical College, and the University of Georgia.
During the event, the Peach County High School Marching Band and Varsity Cheerleaders welcomed the attendees with a performance.
Amy Sanders, Executive Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent, was ecstatic with the turnout from the Peach County community. She extended her well-wishes to the students, welcoming them back into the new school year.
“We’re excited to welcome you guys back on Tuesday and we hope you have a great year!” Sanders said.
Sanders also offered her and the rest of the Peach County Schools staff’s assistance and support to the parents of Peach County students. She emphasized that each Peach County Schools staff member is here to support the families of Peach County.
“Please feel free to communicate with our schools. If there is ever anything you need or Peach County Schools can do anything to help. Start with the schools first and work your way up; every one of us is here to help and support education,” Sanders said.
