* That’s Why Jesus Had To Bleed And Die! *

Greetings and blessings! Today, across the globe, we graciously celebrated Easter/Resurrection (Christianity and Holy) Sunday. So then, my mind once again took me back to a childhood song that I perhaps mentioned before but still, always appropriate for such a time. So much so that I song a little of it in church,
“Why did Jesus have to bleed and die?” Of course, the answer is, “for you and I.” Rightly so, I learned the divine song while traveling around in several counties singing as a little boy with my dear mother. Anyhow the group was called “Note Singes” which unfortunately, no one nowadays does anymore in this area and all have passed on.

However, I remember it like yesterday, yes of course, (Book-Shepherd’s Love, page #58). Even though, at the time, I was much too young to know why God had put that song in my heart and spirit with a desire to learn it in its entirety.
Perhaps as in another song, say, “We will understand it better, by and by.” And I do now and it has made a profound difference and impact in my spiritual journey.
So then, let’s start with the chorus first, it goes, “O brother, why did Jesus die, upon the cross for you and I? In God’s own Book [Bible], if you will look, He tells us why, He tells us why; We all have sinned, someone must pay; He died to put our sins away, And that is why the Saviour had to bleed and die, to bleed and die.”
Verse 1: “If we could live a perfect life in this old world of sin and strife, If we could win a place with God up there on high; If we could keep God’s holy law, and never make the slightest flaw, Then tell me why did Jesus have to bleed and die, to bleed and die.”
Verse 3: “If righteousness could come by law, and man could live without a flaw, Which can’t be done, no matter how much man may try, how we may try; If law could make a sinner whole, could justify and save the soul, Then tell me why did Jesus have to bleed and die, to bleed and die.”
You see, we should sincerely thank God for loving us (even in our sin) so much that He would give His only Son (Jesus) to save us, (See John 3:16). He paid a debt that He did not owe. And do know, Jesus’ life was given (not taken) in sacrifice for the sins of humanity, washing us clean in His blood so that our sins are forgiven. And the great thing is, it’s (our sin) never again to be brought against us. Unlike us, so isn’t that indeed wonderful, rather one of the greatest blessings?
But the good news is, Jesus didn’t stay dead, Praise God! He ultimately rose on the third day and He lives!
Also in Sunday School, my wife Juanita song beautiful, “Because He (Jesus) Live.” Because He lives, We live and can face tomorrow, because all fear is gone.” God Words says, “Fear not for I have redeemed (ransomed, bought with a price) you, I have called you by name: You are mine… you are precious and honored in my sight…because I live and I love you! (Isaiah 43:1-4).
Happy Easter/Resurrection Sunday! Thank God, Jesus died but now He lives!
