*Our Government Stoking Fear In Midterm Election*

Greetings and blessings! Unfortunately, and regretfully, we are living in troublesome times, pure dangerous evil that I never dreamed of. Greetings and blessings! Unfortunately, and regretfully, we are living in troublesome times, pure dangerous evil that I never dreamed of. Sadly, unforeseen corruption and destruction to our government system. So once again, I’m writing respectfully and totally out of concerns as we are nearing our Midterm election. Hopefully we’ve learned more of what it’s all about from my column last week. Nevertheless, knowing and not acting is useless! James 2:14-17 tells us that “faith without work is dead.” People, this is about whatever and all races or gender (black, white, yellow or brown). I’m pleading, do not relax, we cannot and will not go back. A gospel song says, “We Have Come Too Far From Where We Started From.” Apparently, we often take voting for granted, as if it’s a do if I want to. But not so, absolutely too many sacrificed, even died, black and white to give that right to you. So, in regards, we must not fear but stand strong and firm for those who have fallen, fighting for us. Everyone individually and collectively should stand for something; if not we will fall for anything. Our vote is our voice; our voice is power and must not be silenced. Meanwhile, just pray and vote your conscious, your heart and not be persuaded by false promises that sound and look too good. And don’t be discouraged by the media poll counts, poll counts don’t vote, people do, all of you and me too. But however, perhaps we all can agree and see that there is an assault on our democracy and it’s very scary.

Let’s be reminded, MLK, Jr. saw the ballot as the most powerful tool for achieving equality and justice. In King’s famous speech “Give Us The Ballot,” he said, “give us the ballot, and we will transform a salient (prominent, visible) misdeeds of bloodthirsty mobs into a calculated good deeds of orderly citizens.” Further saying, “and we will no longer have to worry federal government about basic needs.” And saying, “give us the ballot and will fill our halls of legislature with men of integrity and goodwill.” Ultimately,King argued that without the right to vote, (the ballot) “I do not possess (own) myself” and could not live as a democratic citizen. King was essentially saying, even though this present President and administration has used every illegal act and tool to suppress and take away our ballot; we must relentlessly fight with all our mite for our voting rights. In fact, every single vote matters, one could make the necessary difference needed to make a bad situation better. Please Vote! May God’s grace, blessings and love be with you!
