Hamilton Police Chief Resigns
Hamilton Police Chief Eric Weiss submitted his resignation to the City Council last Tuesday.
Hamilton Police Chief Eric Weiss submitted his resignation to the City Council last Tuesday.
In his letter, Weiss said, “After more than five and a half years of having the honor and privilege of serving as Chief of Police for the City of Hamilton, I will be stepping down from my position to accept a new opportunity and begin the next chapter of my career.”
Weiss will stay on as Chief until October 30, and following that he will become head of security at Columbus Airport.
Weiss added, “Serving as Chief of the Hamilton Police Department has been one of the greatest honors of my professional career. I want to thank the City of Hamilton, its citizens, our community, and everyone who has supported me and the Hamilton Police Department throughout my time here.”
After crediting the department’s achievements to dedicated officers, city employees, elected officials, community partners and citizens, Weiss concluded, “I leave with tremendous gratitude for the trust that was placed in me and with pride in what our team accomplished together.”
