Houston County (3-3, 1-1 Region 2-6A) was held out of the end zone for the first time since 2024, a season in which they scored 562 total points, in their 43-3 loss to Thomas County Central on Thursday.

The Yellow Jackets scored on 3rd-and-goal from the 18-yard line on their opening drive and didn’t let up from there. They led 36-3 at halftime, and starting quarterback Aidan McPherson played one drive in the second half.

The Bears head on the road to Coffee next.

Northside

Northside (3-3, 1-1 Region 2-6A) snapped their two-game losing streak with a fourth-quarter comeback at Tift County on Thursday.

The Eagles scored two rushing touchdowns in the final period for a 25-24 victory after trailing 21-13 at halftime. That evens the all-time series at seven a piece, and it’s Northside’s fifth consecutive victory against the Blue Devils.

Northside returns home to host Lee County next week.

Perry

Perry (3-4, 2-1 Region 2-5A) went into their second bye week on a high after a 45-20 domination of Jones County.

The Panthers scored 21 points in roughly four minutes of game time in the first quarter in what could be their best defensive performance of the season. Forced turnovers, fourth-down stops and big tackles behind the sticks defined a stellar effort.

Kicker Carson Camp also broke his own school record with a 54-yard field goal in the second half. The previous record was 53 yards.

Perry’s next game will be at home on Oct. 23 against Union Grove.

Veterans

Veterans (4-3, 1-2 Region 2-6A) finished their quick two-game stint away from home with a 49-0 loss to Lee County on Thursday.

The Warhawks have lost two in a row, the first game 55-12 to Thomas County Central, to nationally ranked opponents (according to MaxPreps).

They return “home” to play Houston County as the away team on Oct. 23 after their second bye week.

Warner Robins

Warner Robins (5-2, 3-0 Region 2-5A) is on the first of back-to-back bye weeks after a thrashing of Locust Grove last week.. Their next game is at home against Ola on Oct. 23.

Westfield

Westfield (4-3, 1-0 GIAA District 3-3A) is on their second bye week after a victory against Tiftarea Academy last week. Their next game is on the road at Central Fellowship Christian Academy on Oct. 16.
