Blue Bird Vision Electric school bus named ‘Coolest thing made in Georgia’ per Georgia
The Georgia Chamber of Commerce has officially named Blue Bird’s Vision Electric School Bus as the “The Coolest Thing Made in Georgia” during the Georgia Chamber’s 2026 Congressional Luncheon.

PEACH COUNTY, Ga. — The Georgia Chamber of Commerce has officially named Blue Bird’s Vision Electric School Bus as the “The Coolest Thing Made in Georgia” during the Georgia Chamber’s 2026 Congressional Luncheon on Wednesday, Aug. 5.
According to a release from Blue Bird, the contest was a social media bracket featuring products from Georgia manufacturers, makers and creators. The public voted across multiple rounds to decide who advanced. TifTuf Drought Tolerant Bermudagrass was named the runner-up in this year’s competition.
“Public voting drove the entire contest, which makes the win land differently than an industry panel picking a favorite,” said Lauren Beaty, Blue Bird’s grants and community engagement manager. “Georgians looked at our innovative electric school bus and decided it belonged at the top.”
According to the Blue Bird Corporation, they have been a part of Georgia’s manufacturing story for close to a century. Today, Blue Bird is leading the way when it comes to cleaner energy solutions within the student transportation industry. They are the market leader in low- and zero-emission school buses with the highest percentage of non-diesel buses sold in student transportation.
“We’d like to thank the Georgia Chamber and all of the voters for being named ‘The Coolest Thing Made in Georgia’ for our zero-emissions electric school bus. This recognition reflects years of innovation, dedication and a shared belief that student transportation can be safer, cleaner and, yes, apparently cooler than we ever imagined,” said John Wyskiel, Blue Bird’s president and CEO.
Chris Clark, President and CEO of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, recognized Blue Bird as the winner of the 2026 “The Coolest Thing Made in Georgia” contest, noting Blue Bird for their “ingenuity and manufacturing excellence.”
“Georgia is home to innovative companies and products that are making an impact far beyond our state’s borders. The Blue Bird Vision Electric School Bus represents the ingenuity and manufacturing excellence that make Georgia a global leader in business. Congratulations to Blue Bird on this achievement and on its nearly century-long legacy of creating innovative products right here in Georgia. We also congratulate every participant in this year’s competition for showcasing the entrepreneurial spirit that makes our state exceptional.”
