Woman thrown from SUV during Wed. night wreck

WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — The Houston County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a rollover accident that sent a woman to the hospital on Wednesday night.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies received a call around 9 p.m. May 24 in reference to the single vehicle accident.

Captain Clay Chambers explained the accident to The Journal. That night, an Acura MDX was traveling northbound on Highway 247 near Robins Air Force Base. The driver, an unidentified woman, lost control of the vehicle, which crossed the southbound lanes, rolled over the railroad track and came to rest in the woods nearby.

The woman was ejected from the vehicle during the accident and later hospitalized. Her current condition remains unknown.

Chambers also told us investigators were on scene Wednesday night finding more information.

“We were out there for several hours collecting evidence and seeing if there wasn’t a second person thrown from the vehicle that needed help,” Chambers explained.

The Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division is currently investigating the cause of the crash.
