Christmas Gift Guru

Your Christmas spending guide follows.

Your Christmas spending guide follows.

You don’t need a newer, bigger TV. The one you have is fine. You don’t need a new food processor, the one you have grinds just fine. But what do you need?

You and your significant other deserve new, high-end underwear. Male or female. No more raggy, faded undies! Get the good stuff. Throw the old stuff away immediately or you never will.

You need a dash camera for your car. Why it’s not standard equipment beats me. 1. It helps combat fraud. 2. It helps you in the event of an accident. 3. It gives you the chance to be an Internet viral sensation recording the idiotic stuff other drivers do. Get one.

You need to make sure your cars have good brakes and tires. Nothing else matters more. What is the better use of your money? A new TV or great brakes and tires?

You need to donate to a worthwhile charity. You may not see the benefit that your money does, but who cares? It’s the right thing to do. A battered woman’s shelter, a homeless shelter, a children’s club, whatever charity suits you. America is great because we care about each other. It’s not the government that solves problems, it’s us.

I’m going to brag on my brother Michael. He sends out checks as his Christmas gift with the suggestion that we all have more than we need and we can use the money as we see fit for our charitable giving or, if we don’t cash it, he will use it to make charitable donations.

Be like Mikey. You can make the greatest difference in the lives of those who don’t have much by being generous with your charitable gifts this year.
