Christine Spires Rockwell

Christine Spires Rockwell, born January 9, 1943, passed away June 4, 2024, in Warner Robins, Georgia. Chris was predeceased by her parents, Ellis and Lucille Spires, brother Wayne Spires of Fitzgerald, GA, husband, Charles Rockwell, son-in-law, Steve Johnson of Forsyth, GA, and ten-year-old great grandson, Brannon Michael Harvey of Gainesville, Georgia.
Chris is survived by sister, Brendia McKeag of Warner Robins, GA; children, Harriette Deas Johnson of Forsyth, GA; Kenneth M. Risher, Jr., of Cleveland, GA; K. Michael Risher (Shelia) of Gillesville, GA; and Rhonda Risher Harvey of Warner Robins, GA; six grandchildren, Kenneth M. As a military bride, Chris lived in several states and abroad being stationed in Germany, California, and Texas. She lived in Savannah, Warner Robins, Gainesville and Byron, Georgia. She had many friends, but none more special than “Friends of Bill” through Alcoholics Anonymous. Chris sponsored many women over the years who recovered in the program of AA. It was especially important to her to share the AA message of hope and recovery. At the time of her death, Chris had 40 years of sobriety.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The family requests that donations be made in Chris’ memory to House of R.U.T.H. (www.recoveryunderthehealer.org) which is a safe, spiritual place, designed to nurture and support women as they walk the road of recovery.
A special thank you to Dr. Andrew Powell, Josh Chapman, ICU nurse, and to Rachel and Brandy in the stepdown unit at Warner Robins Healthcare. Thank you for taking wonderful care of our Mom, and us!
